HIV/AIDS AWARENESS CREACTION, TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION

HIV/AIDS pandemic has become one of the dreaded diseases in the world destroying many lives due to its devastating effects its has on man. Despite the earlier efforts being made towards its prevention and eradication and eradication, it is still on the increase. Therefore more education needs to be done and people living with HIV/AIDS needs to be supported in so many ways in order to help curb this menace. The major problems PLWHA suffer from are stigmatization, poor nutrition and poor access to health. It is therefore the aim of blue-med Africa to increase the education on HIV/AIDS and help support PLWHA through the following activities: Home visit to people living with HIV and help reduce stigmatization. Support PLWHA with food items and clothing’s Counseling on the importance of adherence to treatment on the part of PLWHA Awareness creation in schools, churches, individuals and the communities Promote condom distribution and usage Increase the number of people going for voluntary counseling and testing

Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health in junior, senior schools & community level

There is profound lack of sexual health knowledge among the youth in Ho Municipality indicated by increase in teenage pregnancy and unknown STI and HIV/AIDS status. Blue-med Africa has deemed its necessary to carry the following programmes in the Junior and Senior High Schools and the communities at large equip the adolescent with knowledge on their sexual and reproductive health, decrease the number of STI/HIV cases and teenage pregnancy by advocating for safer sex practices.
ACTIVITIES: Distributing of questionnaires to students in the first and second cycle schools in the Ho municipality to understand their current sexual health knowledge and attitudes Analysis of questionnaires to identify knowledge gaps Training of peer educators in the first & second cycle schools and communities in Ho municipality Holding of monthly outreach and sexual health educational talks in the schools and communities Follow up visits to schools to supervise the work of the peer educators
Encourage voluntary counseling and testing

Blue-Med Medical Outreach

The Blue-Med Medical Outreach clinic staffs is a dynamic team of health care professionals dedicated to providing quality service to children, youth and the entire community. This team is made of medical doctors, registered general nurses, community health nurses, psychiatric nurses, laboratory technician, pharmacist, social service workers/Volunteers providers and administrative support team. Blue-med Africa mobile health clinic has the aims of: Giving affordable total health care in impoverished/remote rural areas Treating not less than 850 patients per month Reaching the poorest people at the grassroots level with no access to health care services Extending health care service to where it’s needed most
Blue-Med Africa Mobile Clinic carries out the following: Help register people with the national health insurance scheme Organize free blood pressure, blood sugar, HIV counseling and testing in the communities/villages Improve vaccination and immunization in the communities Help families have access to primary health care services. Refer cases to appropriate medical facilities if the need Promote healthy life style with nutrition education and other health related problem
